At KabCo Kitchens we take pride in our ability to breathe new life into obsolete homes. We recently completed the transformation of an outdated home in the Sunset neighborhood of South Miami. We had the pleasure of working on a remarkable renovation that completely transformed an inefficient kitchen and living layout into a bright, functional, and stylish transitional space.
THE CHALLENGE
The original kitchen and tv wall unit featured cherry wood cabinets and granite counters that did not meet the needs of the new homeowners. The outdated layout lacked the essential features for modern living. Our client wanted an eat-in kitchen with ample countertop space, along with a seamless connection to the living area.
MEET THE DESIGNER
Mike Contreras, KabCo’s talented designer, played a pivotal role in this remodeling project. With his expertise, we were able to improve the layout significantly, ensuring that every inch of the space was utilized effectively. Mike worked closely with the clients to understand their needs and preferences, guiding them through the selection of finishes and accessories to create a cohesive look.
THE TRANSFORMATION
We started by installing MasterBrand cabinets in a stunning Alpine White finish, which instantly brightened the space. To complement the cabinetry, we chose mitered Calacatta Quartz countertops with waterfall sides that exude elegance and sophistication. The addition of matte black accents provided a modern contrast, while ledger wall tile added texture and depth to the design. For the flooring, we opted for porcelain wood-look tiles that not only enhance the aesthetic appeal but also offer durability and easy maintenance—perfect for a busy kitchen environment.

The transformation from the old to the new is simply breathtaking. The before photos reveal a dated, dark and uninspiring, while the after photos showcase a beautifully integrated kitchen and living area that radiates warmth and style.
